# About Markdown for AI

Markdown for AI is an independent, free reference for people who want to write, exchange, and preserve useful information as Markdown. It covers Markdown syntax, practical document workflows, and the ways AI tools handle structured text.

The site is published under the name **Markdown for AI**. We do not attach a person, biography, or professional credential to an article unless that information is made public and can be verified. The site should earn trust through clear examples, traceable sources, and corrections—not an invented author profile.

## Editorial commitments

- **Useful before promotional.** Guides should help readers complete a task without requiring a particular product.
- **Independent recommendations.** Companies do not pay for inclusion or ranking. If sponsorship, affiliate links, review access, or another material relationship ever applies, it will be disclosed where it affects the page.
- **Claims with boundaries.** We distinguish documented product facts, observations from use, community reports, and editorial judgment.
- **Plain language.** The intended reader should not need a developer background to understand a guide.
- **Portable knowledge.** We favor standard Markdown and explain tool-specific behavior when it differs.

Syntax and compatibility guidance starts with relevant specifications or official documentation. Product details start with first-party product pages, documentation, release notes, repositories, and license text. Independent reports can add context, but they are not treated as universal evidence.

Pages should identify important sources close to the claim they support. A visible update date means the page received a substantive review; it is not a promise that every linked product, price, or interface remains unchanged after that date.
